Who We Are

Modern Metals Corp Ltd is a post discovery Australian minerals exploration business specialising in the development of projects prospective for Gold, Zinc, Copper, Nickel and Cobalt.

Modern Metals Corp Ltd is committed to providing the battery metals to help power the new, renewable energy-based global economy.

The Company’s core business lies in managing its joint venture interests in two exploration licences in Western Australia, which are highly prospective for battery minerals.

The Company is additionally concerned with project acquisition and the future sale or joint venture of tenements to other incoming parties.

Our Team

ANDREW MORTIMER

DIRECTOR

With a background in law and a core competence in mining exploration and metallurgy, as well as experience in investment markets, Andrew has experience in creating and structuring the necessary strategic alliances to build solid mining businesses with the potential for sustained growth. Through the corporate advisory firm Superstructure Advisors Pty Ltd (Superstructure”), of which he is also Chairman, Andrew has advised numerous companies on ASX listings and assisted with capital raisings and corporate strategy.

Superstructure Advisors is a regulated corporate advisory firm based in Sydney which has been in operation since 2004.

Andrew has performed executive roles for several public companies as well as being an experienced Chairman and non-executive Director. For several years Andrew was on the advisory board of a managed fund, where he was able to assist with providing value accretive opportunities to the investment committee of which he was part.

Andrew holds a BA and LLB from Sydney University and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

ASHLEY HOOD

DIRECTOR

Ashley has over twelve years’ experience in the mining industry working in exploration and operations for junior and large miners including Anglo Gold Ashanti. He was the senior operations officer in Western Australia including at Tropicana in the Albany Fraser belt.

Ashley holds a number of positions on boards of listed and unlisted companies and is able to draw on his broad senior management experience in delivering exploration and mining outcomes through all aspects of project management. His skills in people management, project planning and contractual negotiations have helped him drive exploration projects, late-stage mine development, environmental permitting, and geophysics programs on some of Australia’s major resource projects.

Ashley is a Director of XTL Energy International Limited, an international energy developer with holdings in a number of junior mining exploration companies, and a non-executive director of Victory Mines Limited. Ashley also holds and is developing a number of mine exploration projects throughout Western Australia.
